How to create a watermark

  1. Type your text (name, brand, © notice) or choose your logo.
  2. Style it: font, color, outline, shadow, opacity and rotation. The preview shows it on a sample image — add your own photo to test it.
  3. Click Download watermark as PNG. You get a high-resolution transparent PNG with the opacity and rotation already applied.
  4. Insert that PNG in any app — or skip that step and apply the watermark here to your photos and PDFs directly.

Using your watermark PNG in other apps

  • Word: Design → Watermark → Custom Watermark → Picture watermark. Full guide.
  • PowerPoint: insert it on the Slide Master so it appears on all slides. Full guide.
  • Google Slides: add it to the theme master — a PNG solves Slides’ lack of transparent text. Full guide.
  • Canva, Photoshop, GIMP: upload or place it as a layer and position it.

What makes a good watermark?

Keep it simple and legible: a clean font or your logo, your name or website, and a © symbol. White text with a subtle shadow or outline works on almost any image. For protection, use a larger watermark at 30–50% opacity across the subject; for branding, a small one in a corner.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make my own watermark for free?
Design it in the tool above with your text or logo and click “Download watermark as PNG”. You get a transparent PNG you can reuse anywhere.
Why a PNG?

Is the watermark PNG high resolution?
Yes, it is exported 1600 px wide (plus the space needed for rotation), enough for print and large photos.
