How to Add a Logo to a Photo in Photoshop
Photoshop gives you full control when you put a logo on a photo: exact alignment, color changes, blend modes. This guide covers adding a logo to one image properly and then automating it for a whole folder.
Quick answer
Open the photo and choose File → Place Embedded to add your logo as a Smart Object. Resize it, press Enter, then align it with the Move tool and the alignment buttons (select all first to align to the canvas). Adjust the layer Opacity if needed and export with File → Export → Export As.
How to add a logo to an image in Photoshop
-
Open the photo
File → Open and select the image.
-
Place the logo
Choose File → Place Embedded and select your logo (PNG with transparency, SVG or AI). It’s added as a Smart Object, so you can resize it without losing quality.
-
Resize
Drag a corner handle (proportions are kept by default; hold Shift to unlock them) and press Enter. A logo 12–20% of the image width is a good start.
-
Align to a corner
Press Ctrl/Cmd + A to select the canvas, pick the Move tool (V) and click e.g. Align right edges and Align bottom edges in the Options bar. Deselect and nudge it inward with the arrow keys (hold Shift for 10 px steps).
-
Change color or opacity
To make a dark logo white, add Layer → Layer Style → Color Overlay. Lower Opacity in the Layers panel for a subtle look.
-
Export
File → Export → Export As, pick JPG/PNG/WebP and save a copy.
Add your logo to many photos with an Action
- Open one photo, then in Window → Actions create a new action and start recording.
- Place the logo, resize it, align it to the canvas corner, and save/export the file. Stop recording.
- Run File → Automate → Batch on your folder with that action.
Recorded sizes are in pixels, so on photos of different resolutions the logo ends up bigger or smaller. A tool that sizes the logo as a percentage of each photo — like WatermarkOn — avoids this.
The faster way: add your logo without Photoshop
Photoshop works, but you repeat the process for every file. WatermarkOn applies the same logo to all your images and PDFs in one pass, directly in your browser:
- Open WatermarkOn and click “Choose logo” (a transparent PNG gives the cleanest edges; for JPG logos tick “Make white background transparent”).
- Drop in all the photos or PDFs you want to brand.
- Set the logo size, opacity (100% for a solid logo) and position — a corner preset, a percentage, or an exact pixel distance from any corner.
- Click “Add watermark” and download each file or everything as a ZIP.
Photoshop vs WatermarkOn for adding a logo

| Install / account | Desktop app + Adobe account | Nothing, works in any browser |
